Rachel Broadley- Canicross
Blackpool, St. Annes and Lytham
Hi, my name is Rachel, I run Canicross with my 4 year old adopted Cocker Spaniel Digger.
I started running when I came across a slow running program on social media which taught you to run in your MAF zone’s. I had always wanted to learn to run but never had the confidence until starting. Digger and I began the journey together which quickly led onto finding Canicross and having an even stronger bond together by first doing the C25K, incorporating Canicross cues and Digger learning to pull into his harness and we now thoroughly enjoy doing 10k run’s together.
Becoming a Sporty Paws Instructor is the best thing I could have ever done, with the continued support and training given by the company, I’m now able to teach people who have always wanted to learn to run Canicross and especially to be able to run with their dogs correctly, from people who have only ever walked before to existing runners.
As a Canicross Instructor of 51 years young, I’m really passionate about sharing how inclusive Canicross can be and want to encourage the older generation to get involved, keep active and socialise with their dogs who perhaps like myself until now have lacked the confidence to take up running as a hobby.
I have over 5 years experience working with dogs as the owner of PAWS, Blackpool dog walker/pet services along with my husband as professional Dog Walkers and fully licensed/insured 5* Home Dog Boarders.
I’m currently taking enquiries ready for launching in the near future.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Rachel and Digger.
