Hi, I am Donna of On the Run Canicross.

I am based in North Wales and first started running with my dogs, Logan (GSDxCollie) and Mouse (GSDx) in 2016 at my local parkrun, with Mouse becoming a local “celebrity” as she loved it so much and could be heard loud and clear at the start line. She even had her own Facebook page, Mouse On The Run to share her story.

Sadly, we lost Mouse last year, and I lost my love of running with my dogs for a while.

Now, In memory of, and inspired by Mouse, I want to be able to support people in our local area to get out with their dogs, using the correct, safe kit for their dogs and themselves, and share the experience of improving the bond with their dog, whilst getting out in nature, and getting fit. I want to focus on those with more reactive dogs, as I have seen the improvement it had made to my current GSD Kayla. But I also want to provide a local community group for those who want to get back out with their dogs in a friendly, relaxed group setting.

I am looking forward to the journey and hope to meet some new people and their dogs in the coming months and introduce them to the joy of canicross.
